Strip Light Install Examples

Here are a few strip light examples and what to look for:

Example 1.

 

Basic Install Type

  • Single strip for under cabinet lighting
  • No breaks in the run
  • Check depth of cabinet lip to determine channel type (none, slim, regular)
  • Determine Lens-with reflective counter tops a frosted or diffused lens would be a good choice
  • Challenge--where to place the necessary transformer. Possible locations would be in the top or bottom cabinets or open space below the room.

 

Example 2.

 

Medium Install Type

  • Single strip for under cabinet lighting
  • Single Break for Window, requires running a jumper wire from left of window to right of window, can be done in cabinets with small holes
  • Check depth of cabinet lip to determine channel type (none, slim, regular)
  • Determine Lens-with reflective counter tops a frosted or diffused lens would be a good choice
  • Challenge--where to place the necessary transformer. Possible locations would be in the top or bottom cabinets or open space below the room.

 

Example 3.

 

Challenging Install Type

  • Single strip for under cabinet lighting
  • Double Break,one for Window, requires running a jumper wire from left of window to right of window (challenge is method to jump wire) second for microwave, requires running a jumper in cabinets
  • Check depth of cabinet lip to determine channel type (none, slim, regular)
  • Determine Lens-with reflective counter tops a frosted or diffused lens would be a good choice
  • Challenge--where to place the necessary transformer. Possible locations would be in the top or bottom cabinets or open space below the room.
